PRC Historical Society Meeting

February 14 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Historical Society Meetings are held in Holland Hall of the Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library. Beginning at 11:30am, a potluck lunch will be served. Members are welcome to bring their favorite dish to share. A brief business meeting will begin at 11:45am.

At noon, our guest speaker, Dr Erin Sapp, will give a presentation titled, “Moving the Chains: How the Civil Rights Movement Saved the Saints and Transformed New Orleans”. Learn how the 1966 birth of the New Orleans Saints came about and the story of the athletes whose bravery led to change. Please join us for a fascinating program!

Erin Grayson Sapp holds a PhD in English and American history from Tulane University. She has served as a scholar-in-residence for the Historic New Orleans Collection, writing for their magazine, giving talks on local athletes, and researching the Sugar Bowl and Saints-related topics. Note: Her book will be available at the meeting for purchase.
